Once upon a time on Earth, 50% of the population lived in urban areas. I was one of them. You know the drill. You wake up early, swallow your first coffee being still half asleep, rush to the office fighting the traffic, consume numerous cups of coffee, haggle with the boss, arrive home late. The everyday life of a city dweller.
The day I became a father, I started looking at the world from a different perspective, taking interest in things underlying our everyday city life. One day I would have to set an example of fair living, one day I would have to explain the smallest details of life and nature to my nosey children.
Apiculture or bee-keeping was never a dream for me. But as the story of bees unravelled, I became more and more enchanted. Whether it was the serenity and patience of the bee-keeper, the neat organisation of the bee family, the bee buzz in the summer or the sweetest taste of honey, I can not tell. All I know, is that taking care of these small creatures has been a mystical experience which I would love to share with likeminded people.
